Strong traditions and a focus on career development
Tabaqueira was founded in 1927 and 70 years later, following its privatization, it became a subsidiary of Philip Morris International (PMI).
We employ around 750 people and our factory produces a range of premium national and international cigarette brands for sale domestically and for export worldwide.
Tabaqueira has a strong focus on career development: we provided around 39,000 hours of training for our people in 2006, and our offices house a technical training centre.
About our operations
Our operations are centred on our Albarraque factory, near Lisbon. Since Philip Morris International and Tabaqueira united in 1997, we’ve modernized the facilities at Albarraque and production has increased so that it’s now one of the largest production centre of PMI in the European Union.
